How it began In 1985, CCM was formed when a number of mission leaders active in Muslim Evangelism throughout southern Africa met together and said, "We need each other!" The closer co-operation that resulted has been very encouraging, making us more effective in reaching our goals.
Since 1995, various individuals, churches and organisations interested in sharing the Gospel with Muslims have become involved in CCM, either as members or friends of CCM.
CCM provides a forum where Christian leaders from a broad spectrum of churches and mission organisations come together. Annually at CCM Conferences and the Leadership Consultation CCM meets to interact about Muslim Evangelism and to develop capacity building strategies which will assist Christians and congregations in their outreach to Muslims.
In the major centers throughout South Africa this uplifting conference encourages Christians in each region to prosper and persevere in the calling to reach Muslims for Christ. Regional Forums organize these conferences and meet together throughout the year for networking and prayer.
Task groups are formed when needed for specific responsibilities, whether research, writing or problem solving. CCM welcomes individuals with a heart for Muslim Evangelism to become Friends of CCM. For some this may mean prayer and/or financial support. It may also mean receiving training and getting involved in outreach in the area where you live. Individuals who already have a leadership role in Muslim Evangelism can become Members of CCM and attend the Leadership consultation. CCM values the input of the church. Churches with an active interest in Muslim Evangelism can join CCM either as Friends of CCM or as Members of CCM and may send a representative to the Leadership Consultation. The same applies to Christian organisations. |
